March 16: This Week at Rock Run House

I can definitely tell I’m emerging from hibernation (unlike Ollie the Dog in the accompanying photo) because I sent out an email newsletter this morning. Every month, I tell myself to send out a newsletter and most months, I don’t manage to get it done. HOWEVER, this will no doubt change going forward, as the events and workshops and gardening and baking ramp up, with all of their attendant news that I just have to share with you.

Meanwhile, I’ll fill you in via this blog post: we have an upcoming Sourdough Workshop THIS week on Thursday, March 19th. We’d love to have you join us! We have a great time together learning to make bread, and you will leave with dough to bake, a fresh loaf of your own, and a bit of starter to keep the fun going at home with your own breadmaking. Click HERE to sign up.

In Breadstand news, this crazy wind we’ve been having knocked the whole thing over. We are in the midst of attempting to repair the roof (by “we” I mean Paul. I just stand back and offer helpful hints). In the meantime, the little greenhouse next to the old Breadstand is still standing so we haven’t missed a beat in terms of offering fresh sourdough bread to those of you who can stop by.

That’s it for now. Hope you’re managing your own emergence from winter hibernation with grace and that you all manage to stay upright in this wind, and we hope to see you soon at Rock Run for our upcoming workshops and events!
