Who we Are
After many years spent living in New England, we moved to Ohio in 2021. We wanted our kids to be closer to their extended family in Ohio. But we also made the move because we stumbled on this very unique property, and could imagine a life for ourselves in this house.
Rock Run was built in 1860 on what was once a large farm, now reduced to a few acres bordered by Route 4, the historic National Road, and, of course, Rock Run Creek, the namesake of the house. Rock Run House offers what has become a bit of a rare experience in modern society: a sense of place. We hope you will join us and enjoy this sense of place for yourself as you are inspired by the things we love best: books, food, and music.

He has led middle and high school students through lots of books and big ideas and is looking forward to small group studies at Rock Run House with a new generation of readers, writers and thinkers. For many years, Sarah has developed community festivals, events, a farmers’ market, and a range of other initiatives. She is a writer, among other creative endeavors. These days she is focused on raising her teenagers and building the gardens and community here at Rock Run House.
