For a range of reasons, the onset of Fall has caught me off-guard this year. I had hardly settled into the thought of summer coming to a close before the official start of Fall occurred. During these next few weeks I need to focus on harvesting. I grew a lot of basil and various other plants that I’ll appreciate when the world turns icy and gray, whether this means drinking herbal teas from the garden or enjoying the color of dried celosia, even if those colors have been muted in the process of preservation.
